nói: It depends (If it’s a long holiday/short holiday; If that’s the
holiday I spend with my friends/family…).
1. What do you do in your holidays?
“Well, for most holidays, I just
rest at home and enjoy some of my favorite movies, sometimes, try out
some new cooking recipes or hang out with my friends. But if it’s
particularly long holiday, I like to go sightseeing, maybe sign up for a
guided tour or you know, backpack as it’s a chance to be showed around
and take photographs…one of my hobbies.”

2. Do you think holidays are becoming more and more important?
“For students, I guess. Haha. Just
think of how happy we are when holidays come and how regretful we will
be when it ends. Seriously, I think holidays have always been important
to people, but of course the harder you work, the more important your
holidays become to you. It gives you time to relax, to be with your
beloved people, you know, many young people live away from their parents
so holiday is the perfect time for them to get together and have fun.”

I can enjoy myself with my friends and where there’re fun thing to do
together.”

phong cảnh thiên nhiên đẹp tuyệt vời nhưng bạn biết đấy, hiếm khi mà

I’ll have full control over what I want to see and do but the costs of
solo travel are usually so much greater than go in a group, you know.”

in the early morning and of course try to get a suntan. But if it’s a
mountainous area, I would like to see the sights and take pictures
wherever I set my foot on. But wherever the place is, enjoying local
cuisine and bring home some local crafts cannot be out of the list.”

Describe a person who likes travelling by plane. You should say:
Who this person is
How you know this person
Where this person travels to
And explain why this person likes to travel by plane
1. Một phút chuẩn bị
Anthony – close-knit friend – in Australia
4 years ago – heart of july- landed to Sydney by aircraft – wait at
baggage claim area – disabled man ask for help for his luggage – same
uni – keep in touch
1st: he has to coz his disability – best to facilitate his travelling
2nd: time saving, risk-free
3rd: he loves cloud à always grabbing window seats
Second to none friend, adventurous person, explore the world
2. Sample Answer
“I am going to talk about a person
who is very keen on air travelling, whose name is Anthony, one of my
close-knit friend while I was studying abroad in Australia.
Well, I think I’ll launch the speech
by approaching the scenario of how I met him. It was four years ago,
probably in the heart of July when I just landed Sydney for in a-few-day
trip by aircraft. I was waiting at the baggage claim area and that was
when I noticed a young disabled man on his wheelchair came close to me
and asked for my help to take his luggage. And then we started talking
for a bit and it turned out we are in the same Latrobe Uni. What a
coincidence! Later on, we still keep in touch and it is no one else but
him to help me a lot in terms of studying.
Finally, if I still have time, I
would like to highlight some of the reasons why he loves to travel by
plane as per what he told me. First of all, cuz he has to as I mentioned
Anthony has the disability, so traveling by plane is an ideal option
for him to facilitate travelling between Melbourne and Sydney, where his
family settled. Secondly, it would be obviously time saving and
risk-free by this means of travelling. Last but not least, according to
Anthony, he is such a romantic guy so he loves cloud. This is the main
reason why he always insists on grabbing a window seat when boarding on
the plane.
Well, it is not too exaggerated to
regard Anthony as a second to none person because he’s definitely an
adventurous type of person, who loves to travel and explore the world,
in spite of this harsh disability”
Bắt đầu bằng I’d like to talk about + đề bài hoặc paraphrase lại đề bài
(Now I’d like to talk about a friend that I really like to spend my time with)
Dùng đại từ quan hệ (who, which) đề giới thiệu đối tượng được nói đến
(whose name is Windy)
(one of my best friends who had great influence on me during my university years)
Trả lời gợi ý 2 : (gợi ý 1 đã được làm rõ ở phần start luôn, không cần quá máy móc phải trả lời hết tất cả các gợi ý)
Bắt đầu bằng cụm liking câu giờ: Well, first of all I think I should start my mentioning the situation how I know Wendy.
luôn bắt đầu bằng cụm: “Finally, if I still have time, I want to talk

PART III 1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of traveling by plane?
“Well, as I always believe,
everything has pros and cons and air – travelling is not an exception.
On the one hand, it is advantageous in some aspects. Firstly, the plane
is the fastest means of transport, I mean its flying speed can help us
reach our destinations, especially those are out of our own countries in
just a few hours. Secondly, we are provided with in-flight
entertainments and services served by friendly and polite air steward
and stewardess. And finally it is safer than other means because the
plane is always equipped with modern technology and you can barely see a
turbulence on a plane as usual as others. But on the other hand, we
can’t deny some of its shortcomings. First of all, this is the most
expensive form of transport which can only be afforded by a minority of
people. Second, if accidents did happen, the consequences would be a
great deal and it is also easily influenced by weather, terrorism,
hijacking and technical problems. Third, travelling by plane also
requires elective passengers I mean unless passengers have strong
health, they will be suffering airsickness and jet-lag which are the
huge problems and finally, do not forget to mention the complicated
formalities and procedures. We have to body check, custom office check
and so on.”
Phân tích câu trả lời : Đây là câu trả lời tương đối dài vì câu hỏi
gộp chung cả hai phần advantages and disadvantages. Câu đầu tiên giới
thiệu tổng quan “everything has pros and cons and air – travelling is
not an exception”.

2. Is it good to live nearby an airport?
“Absolutely not, I think. People
living near the airport will suffer more than benefit. Think about it. A
huge noise created especially at night when the air plane comes or
departures will adversely affect to residential area and the noise will
be even worse when the number of flights increases. This could result in
immense embarrassment on the locals in particular for the children
because they need quiet environment for their study purpose.”
Từ vựng :
departure
khởi hành
adversely affect
ảnh hưởng tiêu cực
residential area
khu dân cư
immense
lớn
embarrassment
hỗn loạn, lộn xộn
3. What kinds of transportation do people choose when they go on a long journey?
“Obviously, the kind of transport
people prefer when travelling depends on many different things related
to the trip such as the destination, the distance you’re going to
travel, whether you’re travelling within your own country or
internationally? For example, the longer the distance, the more sense
flying makes if you don’t have a lot of time, you know what I mean?
Taking the train is another option but its slower and there are often
delays and overcrowded with the trains which can be a real pain, so you
may end up with a really long journey. Personally, if someone has his or
her own car, I think this is their preference because they give you the
most freedom and comfort when you are travelling.”
4. What kinds of people travel by plane in Vietnam?
“Air travelling is now no longer a
luxurious means to travel so most people can afford that. However, in my
country, traveling by plane is always the best choice for businessman
who prioritize time saving and comfort to finish work with high
efficiency over the price of a flight ticket which they consider to be
negligible. Elderly people are also the target customers aimed by travel
agents’ coz they can hardly suffer long journey with travel sickness
caused by other means of transport.”
